Melanie Jayne Lynskey

Melanie Jayne Lynskey, born on the 16th of May, 1977 is a New Zealand actress. She is known for her humorous, soft-spoken, yet strong character. She works mostly in films that are independent. Her awards include the New Zealand Film Award. A Hollywood Film Award. Sundance Special Jury Award. Gotham Award. Golden Nymph Award. Critics Choice Award. Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey's debut in a film was as a teenage killer in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After her move to the United States, Lynskey built an impressive career as a supporting actor in a number of small- and big-budget features such as Ever After (1998), Detroit Rock City, But... (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000) and Sweet Home Alabama (both 2002) Shattered Glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and Away We Go!, Up in the Air!, Leaves of Grass (2009), Win Win (2011), Seeking a Wallflower (both 2014), They Came Together (2014) and Don't be distracted (2021). Lynskey was nominated for the Gotham Award as Breakthrough Performer and was awarded acclaim by critics for her portrayal of a divorced, depressed woman in The Goodbye I Must be Going (2012). It was an important moment in her career. She is a prominent name in the American independent film industry through her subsequent role in Happy Christmas. We'll Never Have Paris. Goodbye To All That (all 2014), The Intervention. Rainbow Time. Little Boxes. I'm Not At Home in This World. And Then I go. Lady of the Manor. (2021). Lynskey is also well-known for her character of Rose on Two and a Half Men (2003-2015). She was the main character on Togetherness between 2015 and 2016, where she was nominated by the Critics Choice Television Awards for the Best Supporting Actress. Megan and Beatrice were her voices for Cartoon Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014). (2016-2018). She also starred as Molly Strand on the first season of Hulu's Castle Rock (2018) and was Rosemary Thomson in the FX miniseries Mrs. America (2020).
