Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay, born August 24, 1972 in Long Beach California. DuVernay was encouraged by her aunt Denise at the age of an infant. Aunt Denise worked the night shifts as a nursing assistant, so she could indulge her passion for art literature and theater during the day. DuVernay immediately was captivated when she showed her the 1959 West Side Story film. DuVernay was taught by her that art could be an instrument for social activism. DuVernay was taught to be socially mindful by her mother. DuVernay was born in Compton by her parents but spent the summers with Lowndes County Alabama. This is where the family of DuVernay's father has been for generations. DuVernay's father remembered watching the historic Civil Rights marches over the Edmund Pettus Bridge, in the nearby town of Selma Alabama. DuVernay would use her summers in Alabama to inspire her next film, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay earned her Saint Joseph High School diploma in Lakewood California. DuVernay enrolled at the University of California Los Angeles following her graduation, and earned diplomas in English as well as African American Studies. DuVernay was a college student at the time she began to become fascinated by the production aspect of television journalism. She was an CBS News intern during the O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay recalled being given the task of watching the house and examining the trash belonging to one of the juries. Her disappointment was evident in her journalism tasks and decided to move into the world of public relations. DuVernay got her first job as a publicist in a small production studio right out of school. The company she founded for her own PR, The DuVernay Agency was created in 1999. Apart from PR, the agency also launched several marketing and lifestyle platforms, such as the Urban Beauty Collective, Urban Thought Collective, Urban Eye and HelloBeautiful. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley was born under the sign of.
